一 Different product properties
1. Continuous laser: Continuous laser has a stable working state, that is, steady state. The number of particles at each energy level in the continuous laser and the radiation field in the cavity have a stable distribution.
2. Pulse laser: It is a laser with a single laser pulse width of less than 0.25 seconds and works once every certain time interval.
二 Different work characteristics
1. Continuous laser: The excitation of the working material and the corresponding laser output can be carried out continuously over a long period of time, including solid lasers excited by continuous light sources and gas lasers and semiconductor lasers working in a continuous electrical excitation mode.
2. Pulse laser: It has a large output power; it is suitable for laser marking, cutting, ranging, etc. The advantages are that the overall temperature rise of the workpiece is very small, the heat-affected range is small, and the workpiece deformation is small.
三 Different application scenarios
Continuous laser welding: Most of the continuous laser welding is done by high-power lasers with a power of more than 500 watts. Generally, this type of laser should be used for plates with a thickness of more than 1 mm. Its welding mechanism is deep fusion welding based on the pinhole effect. It has a large depth-to-width ratio, which can reach more than 5:1, fast welding speed, and small thermal deformation. It is widely used in machinery, automobiles, ships and other industries. There are also some low-power continuous lasers with a power of tens to hundreds of watts, which are more commonly used in industries such as plastic welding and laser brazing.
Pulse laser welding: Pulse laser is mainly used for spot welding and seam welding of thin-walled metal materials within 1mm thickness. Its welding process belongs to heat conduction type, that is, laser radiation heats the surface of the workpiece, and then diffuses into the material through heat conduction. By controlling the waveform, width, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse, a good connection is formed between the workpieces. It has a large number of applications in industries such as 3C product shells, lithium batteries, electronic components, and mold repair welding.
