Difference between CNC engraving machine and laser engraving machine

The main difference between CNC engraving machine and laser engraving machine lies in the processing methods and applicable materials of these two machines. CNC engraving machine is actually a very wide range, which can cover laser engraving machine, mechanical engraving machine, laser die cutting machine and other engraving machines (cutting machines). Generally speaking, there are the following differences between laser engraving machine and CNC engraving machine: CNC engraving machine requires a tool to engrave the surface of the material, which has stress, requires fixation, and material flatness requirements; while laser engraving machine uses laser to process the processed object without contact, has no direct impact on the processed material, will not cause mechanical degeneration, and has no requirements for fixation and flatness of the processed material. 2. Compared with laser processing, the materials that can be processed by CNC engraving machine are far less extensive than those of laser engraving machine. Laser engraving machine can process glass, leather, bamboo, marble, cloth, rubber, etc. Some soft materials such as leather and wood, fragile and easy to crack such as crystal, glass, marble, etc. can be processed, but CNC engraving machine cannot do these. 3. Since CNC engraving machines use knives for cutting, there will be knife gaps after cutting. They can cut thick materials, and there will be no burn marks or thermal deformation like the heat of laser engraving machines. After laser cutting, the gap between characters is small and the edges are smooth, so they can be inlaid. The disadvantage is that they cannot cut thick materials. Materials such as wood, PVC, ABC, etc. will leave burn marks or thermal deformation, and there is an inclination that cannot be completely vertical.
4. CNC engraving machines can perform three-dimensional processing, while laser engraving machines can only perform two-dimensional processing.
5. Compared with dry laser engraving machines, CNC engraving machines are cheaper, and the costs of maintenance, maintenance, consumables, etc. are relatively low. The complexity of operation is also relatively low, but high cost, low work efficiency, and slow processing speed are also the shortcomings of CNC engraving machines that cannot be ignored.
